Public Transportations (bus and boats, all TAX included)

Several public urban and extraurban BUSES and BOATS (a few EUR per trip) do connect the entire area, Como, Cernobbio, the different Hotels and the other villages of the Lake.

TAXI cabs (much higher prices) and Car Rentals are also available, both in Como and at the Hotels.

Aproximatevely the cost of a taxi from Malpensa to Como is 100,00 - 120,00 euro. For Cernobbio is about 10,00 euro more.


A public Railway Station is located in Como and can easy connect Como to Milano, several villages of the area and the Swiss Border.

 

How to reach COMO from Malpensa:

TRAIN: MALPENSA EXPRESS to SARONNO
There is train at  5:56; 6:26; 6:43; 6:56; 7:26; 7:43; 7:56; and so on up to 23:56.

In 17 min or 21 min you are in Saronno.
change TRAIN in SARONNO

Take the TRENORD line to "COMO NORD LAGO" - this is the name in italian of the last stop.
In this case there is a train each half an hour
like 6:34; 7:04; 7:34; 8:04 and so on up to 23:04

Cost of the ticket: 2.75 euro

You get off from this train and you are in Piazza Matteotti in COMO - really in dowtown.

To reach GRAND HOTEL:
Bus n. 6 or 11: pick up in Piazza Matteotti

Get off: TAVERNOLA PONTILE

In front of Grand Hotel entrance

OR

By BOAT: pier 4/5 direction Cernobbio.

first stop (5 min): TAVERNOLA PONTILE, second stop (10 min) CERNOBBIO for Hotel in Cernobbio

 

Finally a BUS shuttle from Malpensa Airport to the Village of Menaggio on the Como Lake, is available. From Menaggio to Cernobbio (Conference site) there are 31 km by train.
